Donation Boxes |
|
Donation boxes have a tendency to work
well if placed in pet shops, feed stores, etc. Because obviously the
people who are going to see them are those who are already in that
store to purchase items for their pets or Equine Friends. |

|
Raffles |
|
Around the Christmas Holiday, You can purchase or Sew a Giant
Stocking and stuff it with Toys, snacks etc for Dogs and cats.
Charge $1 or $2 a ticket. Publicize it through vets offices,
pet stores, etc. Also can be done via the Internet. |

|
|
Animal Photo Contests |
|
Charge entrants $1 to enter the contest. They can enter as
many pets as they would like, each at a cost of $1 a picture. Make
sure you have prizes already picked. You can asked local
businesses for donations of prizes for the winning Cat and Dog owner
such as a free service such as grooming, Pet supplies, etc.
You will be surprised how many people want
to show their beautiful pets off to the public. Can be done at a local
level or through the internet. Just remember if you do it through the
Internet, you need to make sure you can cover shipping costs to ship the
prizes to the winners. Best to run this one for a period of 2 months to
get more participants. |

House Plant Sales |
|
These do generally well. Everyone seems to
like houseplants in their homes. Check with your local nursery
to ask for donations or you can do it yourself by starting 6 months
ahead of time cutting back your own plants and starting them by
rooting them and repotting them. When they get large enough,
you can resell them for your rescue funds. I have seen this
done and it netted the individual rescuer $600 in a matter of 1 week
after her cost of $30 to buy the little pots and the soil for the
plants. Advertise it locally a week before in the newspaper to
let everyone know its going to happen and that its to raise money
for your animal rescue efforts. |

Personalized
Pet mats |
|
I would like to offer your organization $5.00
(roughly 15%) of every sale of my personalized pet mats. These
mats are artistic and decorative -- far lovelier than the old
newspaper many of us throw down under our pets' bowls.
But best of all, they generate much needed revenue for animal
welfare organizations.
You don't have to pay a penny to participate in this fund raising
program.
All you need to do is let your supporters, adopters, or visitors to
your web site know about personalized pet mats.
I created personalized pet mats because I was looking for a way to
help animals. At the end of the day, I know cash is the best gift
-- but I wasn't sure how to raise it. Offering 15% of every sale to
an animal welfare organization is my small attempt at making a
difference in an animal's life.
